Remember, you still have a few weeks before the
Story Contest ends. You still have time to get writing!
I subscribe to several writing newsletters. Some arrive weekly and others monthly. The one I received today had an article by Jennifer Brown Banks on how to kick procrastination (in the pants). Here are some of the points she made:
- Write.
- Find a buddy.
- Set short and long term goals.
- Set deadlines.
- Pursue excellence, not perfection.
- Set priorities.
- Be committed and consistent.
I think NaNoWriMo can help us with all of the above. Yes, even the "pursue excellence, not perfection". How? Because we're pursuing fun and a novel. We're not pursuing "The Great American Novel".
If you want to write on a more consistent basis are you doing any of the above? What are tricks that help you keep striving for your goals? Think about the above points and share your tips for writing during NaNoWriMo or all year long.
