That's a rather complicated question. The book is in two parts. The first part I wrote as my nanowrimo attempt three years ago. I then did some serious editing and submitted it to publishers two summers ago. I wrote a sequel as a nano novel the next November, decided that it would work better as two parts of the same book, did some more editing. Then it got delayed because I had my final year of university and I was rather busy with that. This summer, I did more editing (mostly fine-tuning, though I did rearrange the first chapter a fair bit) and sent off the submission that was successful.
So, there was less than a year between starting it and sending off the first submissions, but over two and a half years between starting writing and sending off the submission that was accepted. That time was probably only so long because of turning the two books into one and the fact I had my masters project to do for uni.
Okay yes, it's a plug, Midnyte is going to be chatting at Romance Junkies tonight...9pm EST. Details in her website, but yeah, she's received a publishing contract and dealt with a publisher so if you have any questions she's a good person to ask :). Now I'll take a look at your blog :).

What's your novel called? What's it about? How did you get it published?

How long did it take you to edit your book from a first draft to a final submission?
