Olympic Exercise
At work we have the Olympics on most of the time. The one person who is a big fan isn't even at work to watch them and that made me wonder about the pull of it. Eventually I decided it had to be the stories of victory and loss that wouldn't be believed if we didn't see them for ourselves.
But each year there are stories that go untold. What happened to the construction worker that built the new stadium for the last two years and was now without a job? Or the overworked hotel clerk that only speaks one language? Where did the homeless go during the Olympics? What did the family do to raise money to send their child to the Olympics?
These are but a few of the questions that can applied to nearly every year of the Olympics. Feel free to write about those stories we usually don't hear about.
