Hi y'all.
My sleep schedule is still messed up - Sleeping nights and awake days.
Of course, that's all bad when you work nights and are supposed to be sleeping days, but I'm digressing.
So now I have a plot to my novel...
...in case you missed it, it happens in the DragonBall Z universe [Wikipedia that, too much to explain] and it's about a woman who deals with a lot of tragedy but ultimately overcomes it and unknowingly plays a large part in a very convoluted family tree...
So it hit me about 345 this morning that much like I did last year, I should try to outline my story much like I did last year. Which means buying a new notebook.
As I tried to explain to a friend of mine this morning, there's something about new pens and a new 5 subject college-ruled notebook that is just awesome and inspiring and it makes you believe that you can create and do anything if only you write it down. That, and writing it down keeps me away from the computer, where I'm very tempted to play games *points to FFTA* instead of actually doing writing stuff. So while my cohorts go about plotting meetings and get-togethers and all sorts of things where no writing went on LAST year [and God love those people but let's face it - the highlight of one of those meetings was my now ex-boyfriend snorting Pixy Sticks] I'm looking forward to actually finishing this year and getting my 50K words in, distractions be damned.
Two most important rules for me this year:
1. Stay off of the Msgr's people know me on and
2. DON'T FREAKING FALL IN LOVE. *coughcoughbenlastyearcoughcough*
Okay, maybe I'm just a hair cynical, but I'll be honest, falling in love last year kinda slowed me down from my goal of finishing my story. So this year...I'm gonna buckle down and do it. So there.
Anyway, the point of this slightly rambly post is to urge / inspire people to get started getting into the mindset that is NaNo. We are six days out from our destinies, ladies and gentlemen, and I for one can't wait.
So what are you guys doing to get ready?
Nyne
