While in Las Vegas I met someone who has traveled the world. Literally. She was backpacking the day before in Death Valley National Park... she lived in Stockholm, Sweden for a time... spent several years in Wisconsin... moved to New York to study... and was spending 6 months in Las Vegas. Somewhere along the way she picked up the phrase "... is such a pirate."
I've never heard it before. She used it to describe a little girl who likes to wear punk rock t-shirts with skull leggings and a chef who served day-old souffle to a politician because the politician made the restaurant close and then showed up three hours late.
Another phrase recently heard was "Too many goats in the garden" by a Czech woman. It's the equivalent to "Too many chefs in the kitchen spoil the soup" that North Americans have probably heard.
Your mission this week is to write a scene with a phrase that may not be common to everyone on this list. The context of the phrase should tell the reader what it means.
