things are coming up Millhouse!

I found the perfect chicken marinade mix at Chez Pim's food porn blog. The core ingredients are: oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, lots of minced garlic, some chopped up chillies (can be dried), a souring agent (vinegar, tamarind, or citric acid), a sweet-smelling spice (five spice mix, cinnamon, nutmeg), and some oil. This can be used for grilling chicken with, or I will dredge marinated chicken pieces in rice flour and fry them in lots of oil over a low heat for a fantastic fried chicken. Obviously, I've fallen off the vegetarian wagon hard.

So in a lot of respects, 2008 was a grueling year. I think circumstances have made me a really negative person, and now I have to deal with the fallout of my own apathy. Because feel-good homilies or religion most likely won't work, I am going to take some good (albeit indirect) advice from a friend and just keep myself busy with short and mid-term goals. This is a very hard thing to do for someone who is so bloody-mindedly committed to slack his way through life, but at least it will keep me occupied for a while.

I had a good time at least during the last Xmas and new year's break, just relaxing with friends and eating lots of sinfully delicious food. Of course, as a result, I gained a lot of weight. This is a problem because I can't start myself to lift weights again. This is because I've realized I've become philosophically opposed to the concept of body building. For health reasons, I am also going to have to find an outlet for physical activities. God knows Fatlus is going to ram the sedentary lifestyle into me with Persona 4 (still haven't finished Persona 3 FES yet, though). Maybe I'll look up a kendo class that trains on weekends - give a reason to dust off my old shinai...
