ARgh, we are at the stage of doing DIY where you want to set the house on fire and run. That or kill your partner for their absolutely intolerable placing of their shoes ONE CM further to the left than normal, or some such. To deal with this, we are leaving for a week.
OK, it's possible that it won't deal with the problem of plaster dust, bumpy walls etc, but it will hopefully mean that nobody dies, and we get to see castles, book shops, the beach and other lovely things. We're off to Alnwick, to stay in a cottage in a secret garden.
I am plotting all of the exciting knitting that I want to take with me, as I have finally finished something, but have some sort of strange desire to continue finishing things. The wedding shawl is back in the active pile. Maybe if I display some project monogamy I'll actually finish this too. Then I can start on the million other delicious things I want to knit...
In other news, Gwen has shown us that she can actually walk, with a little hand holding, but she really prefers it she does it while Mup sings circus music to her. I am perplexed.
I also realised in the middle of the week that just because we are trying to model an egalitarian household, where no one gender is responsible for any particular task does not mean I get to just not clean. Following on from this discovery, my bathroom is amazingly shiny. I had almost forgotten that we had cork tiles... nice!
