Well, ok, only a little woe, but still, I love the grumpy bat icon, so he gets an airing. Weep for the washing machine, for lo, he is no more. The chap came, and poked at it, asked how many years we had had it, and then said "oh, 9 years is really good for a Servis". BUM. I don't remember my parents EVER replacing their washing machine until they moved countries. Is this one of those "it's not like when I were a lad" moments?
Ah well, a new posh energy savey washing machine it is then. At least the guy didn't charge me anything, and was very nice. Think we'll use him again, if we ever have to. Why does everything break and rattle at once? Eh? Eh?
Also, I wish to declare a mad and unrestrained crush on Sergeant Hathaway of the Oxfordshire constabulary. He's all gangly, and smart alecky, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being tough, also, cute. Yes, yes he is. Why is no one else enthusing about Lewis? Am I suddenly middle-aged?
