I absolutely love this. I just re-read Just Listen, which is my absolute favorite of Sarah Dessen's books. The relationship between Owen and Annabel is just so pure and built on a real solid foundation of care and humor and honesty, and you really captured that here and showed how their relationship has only deepened in the months since the trial.

You have such a great Owen voice. You capture that honest, upright guy he is so brilliantly while also showing that he's just like any normal, horny teenage boy who would of course want to be physically intimate with his hot girlfriend.

I really love how you showed the inner conflict in him, how much he strived to respect Annabel's boundaries. And I like how you showed the inner struggle Annabel was going through too, as seen through Owen's eyes. Of course, physical intimacy would be something that she would be cautious of after what happened to her, but something that she would want with a person she totally trusted like Owen. And Owen realizes this, but he just doesn't know exactly how to navigate it...but the two of them learn to navigate it together...to communicate their needs to one another, and so it just felt right the way you showed them moving forward not just physically but emotionally as well.

I just really loved the way you showed that them becoming more physically intimate was a way for them to express their desire and affection and, ultimately, love for one another. So it was just so fitting to end it with Owen's declaration of love...prompted by the honesty and total awe-inducing trust he saw in Annabel's eyes.
