The paint is thick and wet as her tears now, and she cannot see him crouching on the other side of the art. His art.
Inside these lines, she is with him. She stretches to touch every inch of this canvas. There is deep red at its center - passion, honor, courage, love and purpose. She presses her cheek to the precious painted heart, heedless of the rich hue staining her face, and closes her eyes.
She wants him with her, so she dances. The painted man steps from the confines of the canvas. He moves resolutely toward his goal on the horizon, arm outstretched, face obscured.
And his painted heart beats.

Can love transcend death?
Cara Goodwin knows so.
Behind Painted Lines is the dance concert she is creating to honor her boyfriend, fallen Navy SEAL Joshua T. Harris, by bringing paintings found after his untimely death to life by combining their artforms.
