It's been a while!!
I stopped writing in here over a year ago because it was awful only writting about the negative things that were happening in my life. I don't want to go back in time and see how terrible I felt but then again it would have probably helped me get through the issues I was going through. But since my last post there has been so many wonderful things that have happened in my life, and of course I'm still fighting those not so good moments in my life. But I feel that I have definitely made a turn around since January 2012 and I want to update and keep writting. This was always my way of venting, of sharing, of enjoying my life. I happened to show my grandma the other day that I used to write in this and she suggested I keep writing and so here I am.
So lets get started with whats been happening:
1) In March 2011, I applied to work at the University of La Verne to take over Chad's position since he is now working on Royal Caribbean (pretty cool). But it's been over a year now that I have been working here part-time for $11.50/hr. I didn't expect to be here that long. I was hopeing just for a couple of months until I was able to find another job but under the circumstances I am still here. I can't complain though because I absolutely love it here. Working with Shane, Chris, Yak, and Mike and occassionally Don plus all the students is alot of fun. I have edited dozens of different videos, have shot many events, and have even been trained to direct using the tricaster. I've been exposed to many different situations and have been learning how to problem solve and fix technical issues. Plus I'm doing what I love to do.
2) I am still working with my dad and his Janitorial Businesses. I have slowly been given alot more responsibilities. I am doing Customer Service (walk throughs, phone calls, complaints, etc), Administrative Assistant (paperwork, keeping track of accounts, etc), and starting this year I have been doing a little bit of Accounting (invoiceing and payment receiving). Dad just sent me this past Monday and Tuesday to a 2 day Quickbooks workshop where I learned sooo much. I mean I am ready to take over all the accounting and then have my dads accountant do the reconciliation and making sure my work is correct until I am ready to do it on my own. And surprisingly I have grown to love the accounting side of things, I ahve learned that I can make a great living by doing accounting (even from home), which is a great choice for me under the circumstances. So it's been a real treat working for and with my daddy and his sales partner. we're growing the business and I have my hands in alot of it, hopefully I can grow with the company as well.
3) Under the circumstances, somethign I keep talking about. I guess I shoudl elaborate, not that I could ever forget. My health has been a major disaster, but I'm learning to deal and live and continue living. Unfortunately doctors have not been able to figure out whats wrong with me (everyone continues to point to depression). I think that the illness causes the depression and not the depression causing the illness. Cause I am a happy person, living my life as best as I can, and the illness doesn't happen all the time, just every once in a while. But it is bad enough to make me need to change my lifestyle. My parents want me to just get up and keep going no matter what but they can't seem to understand that I physically can't and I think that adds alot of the pressure and depression cause they make me feel bad about being sick. But I'm dealing and thats the best I can do. I am lucky to be in two jobs that are very understanding of what I am going through and very flexible with me. Also I'm around friends and my boyfriend who have been completely supportive.
4) I started a business in January 2011 called Creative Memories. It was a scrapbooking direct selling company that I continue to love. Heather was my upline and I continue to use the goods but as a business it didn't work out and I didn't have the money to keep myself active (at least for the discount). But we've got ourselves a little scrapbooking group that we like to get together with every once in a while to scrapbook :) But in July 2012 I jumped into another Direct Selling Company with Heather called Scentsy. This company has really been working well for me and I honestly have not been working it correctly. I need to get my stuff together and really work it because it is a great company with so many different opportunities. Plus I love the product, my family loves the product, our homes smell DELICIOUS!!
5) Great things about these companies is how it has really helped Heather and my relationship grow again. We are closer than ever, always together workign our businesses or just hanging out. Robert and Angel have become very close as well so it is really nice being able to hang out all the time, the four of us :) It's nice to have a friend there since I sort of lost all my others friends when I started getting sick. I'm currently in the process of mending my relationship with my Cousin. I'm really happy abotu this because she has been one of the closest and best friends I have had, come on we grew up together. So it's really nice being able to hang out with Anabel and David as well. And of course Justin Bender continues being one of my closest frineds and he is now a La Habra Police Officer as of March. So proud of him and love being around him, Paige, and Noah.
6) I went on a 7 day cruise with Robert back in Septemeber for my birthday. We went to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. We had a couple tiffs while on the boat but we got through them and I can't say I had a horrible time. We have some great memories on that trip and tons of pictures. I'm still working on scrapbooking the trip. Starting to think that I should have done it digitally, but it is what it is. I want to take another trip with some friends.
7) On a more recent note. I am currently looking at getting a new car. Love my tiburon alot but its starting to get too small for me and doesn't have all the features I am dying for. I went car shopping Saturday with my dad and I have decided on the Kia Sportage. It comes with the Navigation System, Ipod/USB connections, Sirius, reverse camera. I'm just really gonna miss not having the sunroof because it is a $4,000 difference. But it has everything else I need including the space, better Hwy/Street mileage, and since I'm going to lease it the payments are going to be even lower than they are right now. Getting a pretty bomb deal. Now its time to just wait for the perfect time to purchase it and trade in my car. Unless someone wants to buy it from me.
8) Still trying to find my way in life but one thing I've learned is to slow down and take my time. I'll figure out what I want and if I keep working hard things will start to fall in place.
9) My relationship with Robert has been an insane rollercoster these past 3 1/2 years. It's been such hard work and a lot of emotions and tears and happiness 24/7. But I feel like we've finally fell into place. We're in the same placve, of course I want more I'm a girl but I took a step back and decided to let things happen when they are meant to happen. He loves me, he takes care of me, he listens to me (well when he's paying attention..lol), and he's there for me. I've stopped pushing, stopped pushing pressure on him, stopped putting the pressure on myself and have just let the relationship happen. And of course we still ahve our little arguments and disagreements but we have learned how to be together and to compromise and really grow as a relationship and not as separate individuals. Of course we are still our own people but we have really made this work. Even after all the times we were ready to give up, we kept fighting and it was all worth it because now we are so strong together. 4 years coming up July 22, 2012 and hopefully many many more in our own home with our kids :)
What else has happened? O, I finally became a Certified Wedding Planner (havent done crap with it). I have not had the chance to really put myself out there. Honestly I think I'm putting my own road blocks but I have been applying for some jobs but I would prefer to do this on my own and make some extra cash. That was back in April 2011. And since I did that two day Quickbooks workshop I am eligible to take a certification test. So thats my next step. I can make some great money working from home doing accounting or just helping people with the Quickbooks software.
And I guess for now thats everything I have to write. And I hope to continue writing.
