Kandy Esala Perahera 2010

One of the very cool things we did in Sri Lanka (when we weren't chasing our lost luggage) was see the Kandy Perahera. The Kandy Esala Perahera is a yearly festival that has been going on in some form for over 1500 years. It's an amazing torchlit procession of drummers, dancers and lavishly decorated elephants. There's really nothing else like it in the world (it's listed in the book "1000 Places to See Before You Die"). You can read a little more about it here:
