Well the truck is fixed now, so this week alone I've been to Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Kentucky! Kentucky, by the way, is absolutely beautiful... Not including, of course, the stereotypical trailer homes with toys, clothes, and assorted garbage laying all over the porch and yard. I travelled mostly on State Route 9, and every few miles were these signs that say "stay alert on the AA Highway". My best guess is that there are a lot of drunk drivers out there. I guess there's really nothing else to do in that state though.
I went to trucking school in order to survive such recessions, as this country will always need truck drivers. Unfortunately, many people apparently thought of that too. Werner has been hiring more students thanvit has jobs for, since they get some sort of government bailout or tax break fir every student they take on. I've been finding out that, within the trucker community, Werner has a horrible reputation. I have only been here about a week and a half, and it's all been pretty much just one long, ongoing horror story.
It's worth it for the future though. Werner is my stepping stone company. Once I get 6 months experienve I'll start looking for something local. Even then, I don't mind much, since I have no substantial friend or family ties, and no reason to stick around anywhere in particular.

I cannot believe how indescribeably BROWN the Ohio River is. In fact, "brown" is not even an adequately descriptive word for it, even with caps lock on! I know a three step process to simulate the Ohio River in your toilet bowl, but we'll go over that later.
In case you want to make preparations, know that you will need a wire wisk, or at least an egg beater.

Man, today I worked from 6:15am to 8:15pm. This guy runs the hell out of me but that's good. It means the 3 month student driver program I will finish in a month and a half. I climbed up in the bunk and tried to sleep. When I'm this tired, I dream while I'm still awake. Hallucinate is a good word. I was awake, and sheet music was floating in front of me. I kept trying to press the whole rest button but the darn thing kept moving! I never did catch it. :(
You know what I was thinking, I've got that Steelers Monopoly game from win #5 (sorry I don't recall the proper name of that Super Bowl atm, it flew out the window with bm7) and it feels incomplete. Instead of houses and hotels, it should be Buffalo Wild Wings and Heinz Stadium. Black and Gold, respectively.

Man, I don't know what kind of germs I picked up last tuesday, but its now the following tuesday and I'm still sick. This isn't no pansy-ass kind of sick either, nope this ranks as the third sickest I've ever been in my life. The other two times were pnumonia. You know how that feels like death? This is death lite.
I could request some time off, but then I'd end up with some random available driver. And the guy I'm with now is cool. We get along, and I hear that's rare. So I keep telling myself just one more day, then I'll call.
You know what, why's all this stuff going on your LJ instead of mine? Oh well, why break tradition!

Oh and when I'm in Indiana, it's usually around Indianapolis, as that is where the Werner terminal I'm operating from is located.
