Elwood
There is a single grain of sand underneath my left eyelid. I can feel its unwelcome presence every time I blink and it is extremely irritating. I've tried flushing it out with water, tried shaking it out by pulling my eyelid up and out, all to no avail.
ARGH!
Anyway today I was at Elwood beach. The pleasantness of the place (no rubbish and seaweed on shore!), lack of crowds and the deliciously warm weather made it a perfect beach. We played in the water, lay on the sand and idled the day away. I even thought about having dinner there (fish and chips, yum).
That is, until the weather changed.
All of a sudden the sky darkened, rain fell and the wind picked up speed; to the point where we were being whipped by sand and it actually hurt. Wet sand clung to our hair, covered our esky, towels, umbrella, everywhere. The beach cleared within minutes and the carpark soon after.
