Thanks for noticing I'd updated, and for commenting. I pulled an all-nighter to get this far. Have to stuff the writing into the odd, occasional cracks and corners these days.

Oh! Oh! Brilliant and moving and painful and complex and wonderful . . . this is just vintage Nan! Thank you so, so much--it's even worth being up at the crack of dawn with a sinus headache to have not had to wait a second more to read this!

When I try to comprehend how you are able to write like this, it just completely stymies me . . . so I'll just appreciate and enjoy and admire, and stop trying to understand where this kind of talent comes from.

I really cannot thank you enough for the gift of your stories.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. As to how I write as I do, I've been practicing a long, long time....

I'm still reading - enjoyed your last chapter, though Buffy made me very cross!
Waiting for this one to be finished before getting stuck in.

Love your icon! I'll try to get this one finished sooner than the last.

I love this tackling of the Buffy - Spike problem. To compare: the moment in the kitchen where Buffy rejects Spike is still very vivid to me, while I can't for the life of me remember why Spike got burnt, or if you even wrote about it...Or why he isn't going to Qu'ortoth. Among the hazards of serial writing, I guess.

Keep on writing this, Nan, it's such a great story!

Thanks for telling me which parts faded with time. I'll try to reinforce the important ones. The burning happened offstage--an accident. Spike's used to being able to handle moderate sun now, and abruptly found he couldn't. His expanded aura--his means of channeling heat/light--has collapsed back to vamp normal, and not being able to channel is an effect of that. But I didn't show the event itself. I could make it a memory, when I'm in Spike's viewpoint, if the reader's actually seeing it seems to be important ( ... )

Hmm. Buffy broke something, and it may not be fixable...
