Welcome back mid-20th century
When the former Soviet Union starts rolling into new territories with masked soldiers, that's one time when I miss the Live Journal that used to be.
I have no idea what we should be doing about it, other than trying to get the EU to show some balls on sanctions, but it does start feeling like a repeat of the less feel good parts of the mid 20th century. Especially when I talk to emigrants from Georgia and Ukraine, which I do, just about every week, and hear what a racist bunch of assholes inhabit and control much of Russia (not everyone, of course).
And yes, on the whole I'd rather spend my time trying to get some kind of regulations to protect the USA's ground water in the face of all this energy production with no guidelines, no regulations, and the prevailing philosophy of "let someone else clean up"...and probably Russia is the lesser threat to this, but it freaks me out anyway.
