Anchored in Christ: an anchor keeps us from going onto rocks or being beached.
We are in a time of rapid moral decay. The laws of God are constant we can rely on his constancy.
An anchor keeps us from being swept away. Those in the world are having more fun? Nothing can bring you more joy than the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We have to reject everything that doesn’t adhere to Jesus Christ.
On one dramatic experience in 1987, President Benson spoke at the Frankfurt Temple dedication.
He was prompted that he should ask Peter Maverick to speak. He wasn’t in attendance And wasn’t supposed to be until the next day.
Nevertheless, Pres. Benson was prompted to announce him. He had announced it, and there was an alarmed look from others who couldn’t believe why would announce that knowing he wasn’t there.
Meanwhile, Peter Maverick was in a meetingand had a strong feeling that he had to go to the temple immediately. He stood up and said get me to the temple. I’ll have you there in 10 minutes. He knew he had to get there.
He had an undeniable assurance that all would be well as well, as an undeniable witness that he was worthy of Revelation, promptings, and he trusted them.
Elder Monson trusted the prompting, even though it would be embarrassing if he got it wrong.
