As usual, I wasn’t sure I really wanted to drive 5 1/2 hours. Also, I am so used to having my things around me and my mini projects on the go, that’s thinking of going to a hotel room for a few days did not appeal to me
But I prayed about it, and got a definite positive answer, so packed my stuff and headed out Sunday evening.
I would’ve come out on Friday, but we had late night commitments. And on Saturday we had to go to the Messiah in the morning and then we’re blessed with a kick wheel which we picked up in the afternoon. So as of about 3 PM on Saturday, I was finally able to leave. I didn’t want to travel on Sunday and I didn’t want to miss church, so this way, I could be there on Saturday night, have a good night sleep and in the morning at 10 church in Wasaga Beach
I had a wonderful drive. I followed my GPS phone which took me on the 407, which I’ll have to pay for later. However, it was a very straightforward way to go and easy to navigate.
Wasaga Beach branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is very small and close knit. I love those little branches that are like ours.
I saw the Zovgs from camp. I hoped that as usual, since there are so few of us members, that I would see people I know in the branch.
Sure enough, I saw the dogs from our service mission at the Thomas Monson camp. I also saw another couple who I recognized from the temple long ago.
Although they live the same distance from the temple as me, four hours from three temples, they haven’t been to the temple since Toronto was closed for renovations.
I don’t understand. I just love the temple so much, I can’t understand why anybody else would love it less or prioritize it less. Perhaps I just can’t handle when the darkness closes in. I go back to the temple and and once again filled with light. The mist of darkness of the world are quite real. They do block out the light.
It’s a difficult thing to realize which thoughts Out the light. It’s a gradual process. But after thinking 100 thoughts that might be negative or judgemental or unkind or selfish, it really impacts my spirit.
After church, we drove from the chapel to the beach and then in our way along the south end of Bay
Every block or so was a public access pathway to the beach. The road was complete with no parking signs. But as it is Sunday afternoon, and I did have a handicap sign, I parked beside those entrances and we walked in through the forest and over the dunes down to the sand and across to the waters edge.
I didn’t realize that Georgian Bay is like a backpack on the back of Lake Huron. I have never explored this before, but when Willem and I were here last, we were driving through and pulled into each of the little roadways that led to the beach. But it was only after five or so that he put his foot down and we wouldn’t be seeing anymore of those.
But this time, I was driving! Maryjane is always up for a little adventure, so she was game. It was quite windy and cold.
It had snowed while we were in church. I just loved going to the door and looking out after church at the accumulated fluffy white snow. It didn’t take long before it melted. I was grateful to have positive thoughts about snow. I don’t think that you should confuse the beauty of the snow with the future. Future of bad weather, clouds, and depression, hibernating, fever, etc.
I think that when you see snow, especially the snow blankets, on how greedy it is right now. When you’re dealing with Driving, then focus on the difficult part of snow. But don’t confuse them and get them all mixed up together so every time you see snow you think of times. However, that’s funny to say that I’m just thinking that after this snow is gonna start to snow regularly now,? Am I going to have to be more careful about my footwear am I?
There was so much about this adventure that I enjoyed. We were both having fun. We got to take a little walk. Each access was slightly different from the last one. The trees along the sides of the path. The kind of sand. The closeness of the water to the shore, The clouds and the storm overhead.
I think that was the most interesting thing about specific. Sometimes dark clouds obscured the distant shore. Sometimes arches of rain move across the sky.
There was a tiny hint of the rainbow early in our journey. But we , kept seeing it every time we would walk to the water. Sometime we could even see it just by driving by.
Sometimes the rainbow was just a small circle size. It was a rectangle. Other times it was longer, but not reaching overhead at all. It was just always against the far shore of clouds , I love knowing that whenever it’s raining and the sun is shining, there is a rainbow. I think I have seen many rainbows because the sun came out while I was out in the rain and I was able to look around so the sun was out my back and see your rainbow. How many I must’ve missed in my life and I didn’t know that.
Sister See also arrived at around seven.
It was nice to get to know her, I’ve heard her name and I’m glad to make her acquaintance.
I went to bed in the bay window early.
Monday morning, the sunrise against the clouds, got us all scrambling for our cameras. You could see a pair of blue chairs out at the end of a boardwalk, or a built-up breakwater. Sister See had to work so MJ and I resumed driving to the edge of the water as often as there were a road.
Yesterday we had gone on everyone between Wasaga Beach and where we were staying in Collingwood. So today we worked our way Westward around the Eastern side of George and Bay.
I started understanding the layout of the land, and came to terms was where Tober Maury is and sound and Sudbury.
We only walked to the water once or twice. Maryjane discovered chairs and sat in one while I walked across the muddy Shoals , which were not really muddy, but we sand, wet, sand, skirting between the small and large puddles.
I set a timer and made sure that we were back in time for Corr‘s lunch break. We took her back out to where I had dropped the pin on my map And once again, Maryjane had a chair while we walked. It was fun to have someone to discover things with. The ripples were so interesting in the sand. It seemed like as you got closer to the water sand was gaining smooth or actually, it was more Ripoli. At the at the , wood edge sand had had a few hours to rest while the surf went out. So any ripples in the sand had already melted into flatness. But the closer we got to the water the last time the sand that was no longer covered, had had time to sync back into the , smooth.
A little snail had been making lines and then disappearing down into the sand.
They were big rocks further out, maybe called any Radick. The giant giant rocks near our house are called erratics I think.
We brought Missy back to her office away from home and then we went to pick up some food supplies.
Giant tigers parking lot was so full as was the store. After a very long wait and much shopping, I discovered that many things were 25% off, but not food. I wanted to go back inside and get Christmas gifts.
My first had to make a list of who I buy gifts for what I would like to buy each of them the most.
We came back to Miss See about the time she was finishing at work.
Reset and visited for quite a while, then decided to go to the restaurant downstairs.
It was very nice. I really wanted potatoes and I loved that there was brussels sprouts, so I got the chicken. It was all pricey stuff, but it was also a very beautiful restaurant and the Cooking had been to perfection.
We had a wonderful time sitting around the table together chatting
After we got back and rested for just a few minutes, we went outside to the hot tub. It’s a very nice little hot tub and it’s close to the building . Something cold fall on me but only a little bit not continually we heard there was a possibility there would be freezing rain at home and the buses would be canceled, which of course meant I was going to have to be the bus so I would have to leave early tomorrow.
Did I mention that Maryjane and I went on the treadmill and on the bicycle? We set the cord perfect site alto music of the Messiah to the song that I wanted to practice trust in God.
It was very nice to get some exercise. I didn’t have my phone on my pocket, so I did not record my steps
The heat of the hot tub really felt good on my muscles.
Sister See went to sleep first. I had some of Maryjane‘s very nice soup before I went to bed
Tuesday Tuesday.
The sunrise was lovely. I packed up my bags and took them to the car then walked around the building filming the sunrise. Maryjane came out and we walked together to the blue chairs like we had yesterday , where we had met the dog and there have been ice in the chair. On the chair was not frozen. Maryjane had brought a towel, which was really helpful.
I made some of my olive avocado, tomato, cucumber, hummus, veggie dish. Maryjane loved it.
Missy doesn’t eat pickles.
I finished packing everything up and left at 10 or shortly before hand.
The scenery was beautiful on the way. We had some rain and some rainbows, there is a rainbow behind the truck in front of me.
It’s been a good drive with some rain some sun, some clouds.
I ate hummus and lettuce for a while, then mixed nuts together and then got ice cream sandwiches and candy bars. You can see my steady decline and choices.
I listen to some really good talks, stop to take pictures of the rainbows. I had a very pleasant visit. Even though I had not brought a project to work on, I was able to find interesting things to do like the fitness centre and the hot tub.
I wanted to try the pool, it was a little cool to my toes, but not too bad. I never did use the pool. It was very nice to have been invited to the timeshare with Maryjane. She had had to use the timeshare quickly or lose the points at the year end of the year.
