MaryJane came over

I got a message asking if she could arrive on thursday evening. Wonderful! I was on my way home from somewhere when I replied. She arrived late, and nobody else in the household knew she was coming. Oops!

I was upstairs relaxing in my good chair when she arrived. She hasn't seen Scarlett and Bo in many years.

Friday

Scarlett showed Maryjane the new studio and the walk down dead man's run that the missionaries and others have moved 90 wheelbarrows of sand to create. There's going to be a deck around the studio, a place to sit and rest in the shade out the sliding glass door on a yet unbuilt terrarium hillside patio.

We sat in the shade on the balcony this very hot morning, 28C. It was lovely moving with the shade from the few cut cedar saplings I and then scarlett put up along the edge of the balcony.

We went down to the stream and sat in the shade by the moving water. Maryjane crocheted another doll, or ballerina while she sat on the island side of the stream. I sat beside her for awhile, then moved to the other side. It was so pleasant to be in such a beautiful place.

Willem cut the rest of my willow by the tipi and brought it up to the house. He put it up on the balcony for me. I put it up in the tin trash can of sunflower seeds so I could sort them by size. They all have leaves sprouted on them.

Saturday

There was a big to do in town. Scarlett and Bo were going to go help someone, and Maryjane really wanted to go. I could have let her go alone, but I'd never been to it, and thought I could move slowly. So we went over around 9 and started what turned out to be a very painful ordeal. I was ready to do something different. I had my walker and could stop and sit often, like every 30 paces, I guess. Maryjane went a different direction when we left the car, so by the time I went slowly around the block past the old cars to the booths, I thought I'd bitten off far more than I could chew. So I just went slowly, resting whenever I needed to!

I wanted to see the whole thing, so I walked up to the nearest end, then down the other way.

I bought some little neck bags for carrying my phone and other little stuff with me. They were made in Equador. Nice. I thought they were from Guatemala, but the woman who has been in Ottawa Canada for ten years makes them, weaves the fabric on a backstrap loom. I would love to learn how to do it!

I fell in love with a very expensive rocking chair. I went to the bank to get money out to buy it, but then asked Bo about it. He can do it, so instead of buying it, Bo will make me one instead.

I saw Scarlett and Bo with Desmond! They had taken him to see the animals at the petting zoo. I had fun pushing him in my walker. I had the big black one. He liked to sit on my walker and observe the animals. He probably should have been in the stroller where he would be more portable! He wanted to be held and carried all the time. Scarlett thought its cos all he could see was legs and feet! I stayed with the three of them, perfectly content to be with my family. I couldn't walk fast, but pushing Desi didn't matter. He wanted to go to the playground. I headed that direction with them.

I was surprised when I met up with Maryjane when we got back to the road of booths. She'd been in the park and looking for me for most of the time. I'm glad she was enjoying herself, too. So we all headed out of town to the playground at the park. I was in pretty bad shape by then and every step was agonizing. and we sat on a bench in the park looking at the stream. Spring is so green today! The grass in the fields is that lovely sap green! I was in tons of pain and had an impossible time trying to make it across the bumpy grass alongside the park stream.

Lots of teenagers were crossing the stream and going up onto the rock. It was funny to watch girls that had never done such a thing as hop rocks across a stream. One day it will be so easy for them, doing it without thinking.

We sat there for several hours. Maryjane wanted to go home and sit by the stream, but I just got comfortable on that bench and any steps seemed impossible. My joint can't bear my weight yet. She had made an appointment for a massage for four. So I was content to sit in the lovely park and let my body recover!

Scarlett and Bo came back from taking Desmond home and helping out over there. They sat with me while MJ had her massage. I felt so comfortable I had no interest in moving and inflicting anymore pain on me. I had my medication with me, but I'd really used up my pain tolerance this morning, so it had taken awhile to get my body to settle down.

It was nice to sit and rest in the upper room later. I felt great in my chair, then we lay on the balcony and looked at the stars.
