Plowed the back of Molly's car and ran out of gas in front of it. I was going to go for a walk around the moat, but it needed to be snow blown, or blown out. So I did as much as I could in one swoop around it. I kept watching the time so I could be back at the house when Diane got there.
She was here already when I arrived. We hung out and visited for awhile, then we got down to weaving business. I tried to demonstrate on the yellow Finnish Birds Eye, but was in need to taking a bunch of the warp out, as it was skipping threads.
So instead, I showed her the problems I was having with the tension on the three year old warp on Grandma's loom. We decided we'd just fix it. So we unhooked all the little glass bottles filled with sand and the safety pins that held them onto the warp threads.
We cut the warp, leaving a few inches of weaving on so it would keep the threads in order for me to retie. It made me feel good that Diane liked my towels I'd made. She suggested we just unwind the warp from the back beam after we'd tied it all onto the front beam, cos the warp was too messy.
So we did. We unwound it and wound it back onto the back beam. We didn't use rods or paper between the rows though. I hope that isn't going to be a problem.
I can't believe we did all of that! Now I just have to thread the heddles with the Traditional Birds Eye Waffle weave pattern in the green Davidson weaving book.
