Morning pages, women's day and gathering leaves and yarn deal

Nov 12, 2016 08:09

I was going to go for a walk when I woke up at 7. It is -4C this morning, though, so I didn't go. It took me a long time to get dressed up for the day. I need to wash my hair but it's too cold to get wet this morning.

I got a lovely call from Desmond this morning on messenger video. I love talking to my children and grandchildren on there!

I made a video this morning about my life, a bit. I think I should try to get back in the habit of making videos regularly.

I used to do a lot of How to videos. I don't do them so much anymore because I can't find a way to hold the camera precisely.

I have a women's day at church today. I'm off to ride down there now.

Later:
The meeting was wonderful. I loved the prayer Lori Ayres gave. I made a note to seek her out and chat with her. It turns out we knew each other from 1977 to 1979 in Kitchener! Amazing!

The talks were about grieving and loss. It was a very interesting meeting with a good conversation later about the things we had not grieved about and why not. Sometimes forgiveness is needed before we can grieve. Interesting talk.

It was nice to go with Judy and Lisa. It was quite nice to see the lovely lakes and ponds. There were trumpeter swans on one. Dozens or so.

I arrived back in town and called willem to bring the trailer and meet me. I went to GT boutique where I found the cotton yarn I like using for the loom, for two dollars for 400gm. It was a great deal, so I bought all of them, making sure I had enough of each colour for warping the loom or for weaving the weft.

Later:
Willem found me in the store and helped me. It was so much easier to walk with the grocery cart than with the walking sticks. I had so much trouble today at the women's day meeting. I limbered up somewhat eventually, but found my hip joint was more painful than usual. The exercises and the lack of enbrel are likely the reason.

We filled up the trailer with bags of leaves and brought them home. We put them on his garden at the end of the pond. We went back a second time and got a larger load. It was almost dark while we were loading leaves this time. We had all the boards around the outside of the trailer and had another board on top to keep the bags from flying out like they have other times.

We are going to put these on the island side of the black earth towers that create a wall inside the island. There are a lot to put there. There are still many bags in town waiting to be picked up! I hope we can get the rest before the town truck picks them up!

I've been weaving with some of the orange cotton yarn. It's the same pattern that I used when I gave tea towels to all the children one year. It is a nice pattern. I forget what it is called. I'll have to look it up.

I made a few more videos this evening of weaving and of filling the bobbins. I uploaded them, too! So nice we called and they fixed the internet yesterday! Such a relief!

I've been quite busy today, up so much

weaving, leaves, videos, morning pages
