I prepared some cedar bark by soaking, then cut the strips about six or seven inches long and into cm wide strips after that. Corliss came to Mera early so I could sit and show her how to make a small basket by herself. I wanted to show her by herself so she could study what I did without having to do it herself at the same time.
Mary, Mary and Marilyn added to our group after lunch. We often run out of time for the rim, so I wanted to allow enough time so we could do it all. Ankaret had shown me another way to do the rim where you twine around three times, then pull the bent over tops down tightly. The only way I could imagine that, the twining would fall off the top. So I'll have to look it up and see what I can figure out. It's a cedar bark thing.
