I went down to the pond as it was hot enough that I needed to cool myself down. The water was cool with no warm layer on the top. I floated on my back so the water could cool off my head. The beaver hadn't cut anymore cattails off overnight.
The waterbugs were sailing along together in a group. As I swam towards them, the ripple that preceded me warned them of my impending arrival. The group widened out and the ones closest to the ripple scooted back and forth on the smooth water, leaving lines in every direction. The distant bugs weren't phased by my movement; they were sheilded from me by the other bugs.
I floated one short dock over to the other one so perhaps I can walk out further into the water on them.
After I got out, I filmed along the daylilies. Most of them are finished for the year now. I have to make some stakes for them so I'll know what is planted where.
I filmed the 12 spotted blue skimmers. They were very pretty. I need to look them up. The kingfishers rattled from the top of the trees along the stream as I filmed. It was so pleasant to be down there.
