Today has been a more normal day...well, sortof. I got up at 6:30, fed the deer and went back to bed. The electrician came around 8, but not until I'd sat on our bed and watched a deer come down the hill to the west, cross our steep road, walk behind Basketry Harvest tipi and up behind Corner Cedar with its tree bench. How cool to be able to see all of that from inside the big upstairs bedroom! Amazing!
Mike the electrician said he is going to do a bunch of stuff to bring our wiring up to code, as some of it wasn't done properly in the basement. Good.
The insurance wrote to tell us that they are not going to cover our tipis or greenhouse, as the liability is too high. So the glass tipi will have to come down. At least some of it.
Willem took another basket of papers downstairs for me. I sorted them out a week or more ago. I was able to sort those groups into their separate baskets of the same stuff.
I made hot chocolate with cocoa, artificial sweetener and hot water. It was good dark chocolate.
I went to get some bottles to send off our water to be tested for hardness. I got home and realized that the test was for bacteria. Not what I needed to find out. This was for the water softener.
So Ginny and Willem took the two windows we hadn't installed, back to the car. When I got home, Ginny was doing some laundry. We headed out to Home Depot to return the windows.
I also bought a hot water heater, a roll of linoleum for the upstairs bathroom and two extensions for the fans for the bedrooms.
Ginny and I went to another Home depot where we found another of the windows to match the two we put in the large upstairs bedroom, for the guest room. We also bought some salt for the new water softener and two windows that should do well in replacement for the windows on the ends of the house.
We stopped to visit with Lori on the way home.
I called Mom to wish her a happy 87th birthday. Lori gave her a party with balloons and party hats, cupcakes with candles in them, too!
