Errands in town, then stuck in the lane

I had already had a busy time and was ready to chill out, but Willem decided that since it wasn't snowing yet, we should go to town for the plumbing supplies.

So we did. First we went over to Alida's. She was just getting into the car with her boss who had come to give her a ride to work today. She left us with the key and headed to work.

Willem and I moved the flattening out couch to the upstairs to make room for her new furniture. We couldn't do anything about the couch she wanted to send to Ottawa for Abe, nor move the treadmill upstairs, but we were able to do that little bit.

We went to Canadian tire, made a copy of her key for her, bought some copper plumbing stuff I'd need for the upstairs repairs and a new bathtub tap. I looked for the copper to plastic fitting, but they didn't have it, nor did they think it was possible to do it! Sheesh.

I dropped Willem off at the health food store and went to Alida's work, gave her the keys and told her what we had done at their home.

I went back and picked up Willem. We went to the drug store where I bought the laxative I'm supposed to take all day on Monday in preparation for the colonoscopy I'm supposed to have.

We went to the grocery store and bought five bags of little oranges to tide us over for a few days. :)

Then we came home, filming the lovely Canadian winter and the lovely wilderness.

When we got home, the lane was in bad shape at the ends, so twice I made a mess of getting into the lane. Willem shovelled out under it and got the car unstuck and put into the lane properly. A huge chunk of ice had bottomed under the car the first time. The second, the lane was too narrow and messy with chunky snow at the end.
