I gave Abe the clock that shines the time onto the ceiling. He was amused. He also realized that you can focus the display, which I hadn't realized. It's a blue display, not a red one like Carla has!
We hung out for a few minutes, then headed out. He wanted to find a Buddha Board. We drove up and down Bank street looking for a certain store for a long time. Finally we called Willem and asked him to google it. Chapters had one, so we went over there and bought it.
I learned a lot about Bank Street as we drove it over and over! Did you know that the one way signs for Sparks street are still up on the posts? That street has been closed to traffic for twenty plus years! Geepers.
I dropped him off at home to pack up and went to pick up Willem. We went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant. The price used to be about $10 at dinner. It's now $17! Whew. I guess it went up slowly over the last 20 years! alas.
We came home with Abe and saw a moose in a field. I thought it was an elk at first, because moose just aren't here. I turned the car around, much to Abe's dismay and we sat and watched it. I filmed it with my zoomy camera and watched it move into the brush and eat the branch tips.
We sat for awhile, 6 minutes while I filmed. Amazing experience. I'd seen one or two in Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec on a nature press trip back in 2005 or something.
I tucked in around 9 and was asleep soon after!
