Refecting on where to swim, etc.

Abe has some friends over, Fred and Graham. They went down to the new pond. I heard a sound. Either the tree with the new hammock in it broke, or someone jumped into the water. I think it was Abe doing a cannon ball. I'm so glad he likes it! All these years we've lived here and the kids never wanted to play in the stream or the other ponds cos they were waaaay too cold. Finally we have a place to swim.

I'm lying in the hammock outside in Maple Cove. I had a problem with my laptop plugs, thought something was wrong with my laptop, but whew, it's all okay. The extension cord wasn't right..

Two woodpeckers just flew low over my hammock enroute to the suet feeder. Their mother is feeding the baby. I hope this isn't a problem for them finding food when the feeder is empty! Those woodpeckers do come eat from it year round when there is food in it!

Sounds like another friend has arrived! I don't know who it is yet. But it may be neighbours arriving home, too.

I suppose we are going to get a storm tonight, after this temperature. I sure enjoy watching the clouds while I swim. I keep track of just what is happening overhead. It's very interesting to watch the circles form at the edges of clouds, the spaces between them filling up.

I watched a hawk rising on the thermals below one low cloud and thought about how his life is. he could be diving down to eat moles or mice in the taall gras, or he could just rise up on the thermals. I too could be busy accomplishing something, or lying in my hammock or swimming laps in the pod. I like swimming laps.

If we'd bought an inground pool, or even an above ground one, with all the bells and whistles, it would stiill be way smaller than this is. I really did get a very good deal for a tiny fraction of the cost!

I've been discussing with Al about the pond. I think we'll leave the digging it out further for later. I guess I really need to hire a bulldozer to move some of that pile over and create a nice road for us to get down to the pond. It's too steep at the moment. It was built by the neighbour when they kept their maple syrup tank in the bushes there.

So I was asking for a load of gravel, but he says that the truck wouldn't be able to get out of there if it were to go in and drop it and try to get out. So we were discussing the dozer that is at the gravel pit, wondering if it could come smooth it. I may as well just hire the dozer to come and move the pile to make a road. That would be the smartest thing to do! After we pay for this work that's been done.
