I went over to Millar's cedar poles and talked to John. He's the boss, the uncle of the fellow that I've been talking to before. He was so happy to let me have the bark! I showed him a basket and he was quite pleased. He liked doing something for someone local. He asked if I made soap, as he thought that was me.
I peeled the bark off four logs. It is very good bark. I will be able to use the pond for soaking it if needed. This pond is even better than my outside bathtub! LOL. Of course I don't soak in hot water.
It was very hot peeling bark, probably worse because I had on my log wetsuit under my swimming dress. I filmed peeling the last piece. It was on a haphazard sort of spot where I could have knocked the logs down on my legs, but I was pretty careful and didn't have any problems.
I have enough bark now to make two more baskets, perhaps three! I'll peel off the outer bark tomorrow. I'll also go back and get some more from these new logs which peel so easily.
