Pondering the new pond, just journaling

I need to relax. I'm having a hard time of it, though. My feet are cold on the hammock. In the sun I felt weak. I'm drinking a 5-hr energy no crash drink. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Cheating, though, isn't it!

Abe is mowing the lawn and is frustrated, so I am a bit worrked about the state of my lawn mower going through that very tall stuff.

There's a cloud up there again. It's not hot enough for my feet to be warm in the shade. I should put on some socks.

I should unroll my cedar strips and cut them to be straight. I could do it out here in the shade, no problem. Or in the sun on a long table. With a hat on.

I need to cut my soaps. They are sitting on the kitchen table waiting for me.

I have half or more of the warp threaded on the LeClerc floor loom. I should go sit and work on it.

I was rolling up the tarp which we used for the summer sledding fun with Tyler and Jen, but ran out of steam.

I should probably journal about the things that are eating me up. Ignoring them works, though, too. For awhile, anyway.

Abe may have just run out of gas now. The mowing stopped.

I should go over and buy a fire permit so we can burn up the trash wood in the yard.

The roofers came while I was at the stream and measured the high roof. Good. Willem will be VERY pleased.

Frank is going to come cut the tree down which is overhanging the porch. He didn't say when, but he will do it eventually.

I like having my own bed to sleep in. I like having hammocks to lie in, just where I want them.

I'm so glad we are getting a nice pond dug. I have been researching them a bit. Perhaps we need to have some sandy area on one end so we have a beach.

Having it slope so we can walk in easily is good, but it can get mucky and weedy. Hence the sand which is probably down at the bottom somewhere.

I stopped at a house on the way home to talk to them about their pond. Theirs is a mudhole he said. It's got lots of weeds and is quite mucky around the edges. Our upper pond, Iceberg Pond, is filled with weeds. I should go check on them. It gets algae on the top at the end of the summer, too.

The lower pond, Serenity Dippity pond, is quite short, now that it's been silting in. I'm surprised at how short it is. There's a natural barrier between it and the stream, which has been eroded away over the years, but which remains in some form.

I am going to see about the quality of Dead Man's Run for getting down to the marsh. That's likely the way we'll go up and down to the pond. However, over Sunrise Hillside is a good way, too.
