A most wonderful Mothers Day!
I had the most wonderful day! We stopped at Tisch, Graham's and kayla's on the way hom from church. It was so nice to be with them! I just love my family!
Then we came home and met Ben and Tas with Abe in my ca\r heding into town to Alida's and to buy me a present!
It was so nice to see them.
Then we went home where Daniel was studying Japanese, memorizing the alphabet and characters.
He was studying at the kitchen table while I sat with him and practiced playing Wild Mountain Thyme (Will ye go lassie?), down in the valley and Tom Dooley. I'm picking them out by ear. It's okay to do that, but I have to relearn them over and over and over! I'm trying to make sure I draw the bow all the way out for each note. It's so nice to play! It was just heavenly to sit together, him busy and me busy, but we were working at the table together. I need to do something about the lighting in the kitchen! It's really important to me that I get some light in there!
Ben and Tas and Abe came back soon and we had a wonderful time. It was like Christmas two years ago. It was just so wonderful!
They were on the trampoline, then in the tipi, then on the back porch then in the living room.
Daniel was hungry so we ate the roasted chicken thighs and backed potatoes, tomatoes and mixed vegetables. It was really nice to be together at the table in the living room. We al fit at one table, which was also nice!
We used my wool place mats I wove on Grandma's loom, too.
We discussed what it meant to everyone that our mortage is paid off. I have been scrimping and overpaying for a few months, so over the last year we've paid off a fifth of the small mortgage, which paid it off! I'm so glad we own it now!
Everyone wanted to give me something for mother's day, so I asked for geraniums so I could plant them in my window boxes outside! I was thinking of how nice it woudl be to plant some in the teacups on the garden posts!
Willem went to pick up his Mom at the bus station while we hung around and enjoyed ourselves. They went to Alida's, saw her apartment and then came back here. What a wonderful time we had!
