To the post office and the airport with Selene

We went to the village post office and bookstore. Selene to mail three boxes to Australia of antiques and things she'd bought while here.

I went across the road to buy a book for a Christmas present. I also bought a few other inexpensive books as well.

Selene came over and enjoyed relaxing with some books in there, too. She does bead weaving, which is way over my head! I guess it's too small and finiky. I'd rather do some big project than something so small.

We came home, packed her belongings into the car and headed off to the airport. We stopped at my favourite health food store where i bought some loose lavender and some loose calendula flowers for my soaps and for sachets.

I am going to make my square for the quilt with little patches of sachets on it. Thyme, lavender and balsam fir! What a cool idea!

We drove into Ottawa, then got on the Ottawa River parkway to show her the bike paths, etc. We crossed to Bate island where we hand fed some groundhogs. Such a cute one came right over to me, after a fearless squirrel came over.

We went to Quebec and drove to the victoria island bridge so Selene could experience a moment of all French in Hull.

We returned and drove by parliament hill, then down colnel by to drive along the canal, then onto the airport parkway.

She'd bought some poutine which has lots of gravy and melted cheese curds on french fries. Very somnolent!

I dropped her off at the terminal for departures just after 3pm. She'll write to me and phone me, too. It was so nice to be with someone who enriched my ideas with even more of her own. It was great being with her!
