4:30pm
I have been kayaking in the pool area of the Rideau River near the Union Street bridge and the statue island.
I trailed my reed behind me, then took the third antler frame (antler with glued in reeds) and sat on the river working on it.
I used ¼” reed for the sides and then used 1” reed for the body of it.
I didn’t like the way the wide reed turned at the corners; I guess this is another step on the learning curve!
After three hours of rain then clouds and calm cool weather, I was on the phone with Mom in Georgia. It was very nice to talk to her. When I passed a lady on the shore, we spoke when I got off the phone.
She marvelled at my basket and said she envied me sitting in a kayak wearing a flower covered hat, weaving a basket! I guess she could see me sitting out there for some time.
Just as I was tying the kayak onto the car, the parking man came along the empty road on the north side of the river. I checked, sure enough, I had a chalk mark on the top of my tire. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a chalk mark on the tire. I guess it was up at the top so he could see it as he drove by, without having to get out or do an awkward thing.
After I was done, I drove over to Mary’s, but she didn’t answer the door. I saw that she had planted the plants I’d brought over to her. I’m very impressed with her labium. It looks so nice along the edge of the garden beds!
I stopped at McDonald’s for something to eat as well as at the bulk food barn which wants $11/lb plus for ginger slices!! Highway robbery. It’s $5.99 at my health food store!
I went back to Zellers to use the washroom again as I had this morning after dropping Willem off at work.
