Inspecting the Rideau River in Ottawa Vanier

I have been walking up the Rideau River to the mouth at the Ottawa River. It’s such a lovely walk. The river is wide and calm. I just love being beside it.
I looked at places to put the kayak in but had a hard time finding something as easy as before. There is a steep bank where I parked my car at a little park where I can park for two hours for free.
I followed the pathway along and came to Sussex. There is an island in the river before the halves go under bridges and then under booms and crash in waterfalls into the Ottawa River.
I stood on the lookout and filmed it. The spray was like Niagara Falls. It was wonderful to be there feeling the energy from it and enjoying it all!
I face booked it. What a wonderful time I’m having exploring the river and sitting alongside it in lovely spots. I’m so grateful I have my gps so I can do this!
