My new permanent dentures

I’m here at Piedmont Dentures. The sign outside says Affordable Dentures.
Emmet is a good ole southern name.
So here I am. It cost me $200 (if I’d not stayed at Esther’s, but had stayed at a motel) for lodging and gas. It costs that much to get one tooth out, unless it breaks then it’s more. I had 19 teeth out, upper and lower temporary dentures, a reline and then a permanent set with unlimited try-in’s. That all cost me about $2000. At home that would have extracted ten teeth, period.
I love this place, now. I’m in such a good mood today. It’s a rainy day, but that doesn’t matter at all to me.
They used to have a sign up that said ‘Please turn off cell phones.
The teeth made out of acrylic. They make the teeth here.

They made my impressions out of wax, then out of goo. I had a hard time learning to breathe out of my nose in a hurry, but it came and I did it. The doctor has a great bedside manner. He kept talking, saying to stay calm, breathe through your nose, you’re all right, everything’s okay, don’t panic. I guess they have to deal with people who panic sometimes! Bummer!
When I started to breathe through my nose, it surprised me how naturally it had happened. My only job was to keep it going.
I’m in the waiting room now, waiting while they make my dentures. They’ll make a wax one as well and put the new teeth into the new denture. Then I’ll try them on and see if I like them, the size of them anyway. If they are too big or too.

I have chosen the large teeth so that when I smile it’s a big smile that looks like they used to look so long ago.
These that I had were way too little!
So those will be ready at four this afternoon.

I’ve been shopping at Catherine’s which didn’t have anything. I also went to Hamricks where I got some nice skirts and blouces I like which are warm enough for this weather. It’s 9C here today with lots of rain!

I'm at McDonald's using their internet and having a very very long lunch. There is SO much noise in here even when the people are silent. I'm trying to think of it as a symphony of sounds. Rather grating sounds, but nonetheless!
