I met a woman potter where five artists had gathered. She's new in the area and lives about an hour and a half away from where she was selling. She had a wonderful technique. She made mugs and other stuff with deep gouge lines in to outline leaves or grapes, or whatever.
She'd made a soapdish this way and it had the ridges from the leaves so that the soap would sit high up above the bottom of the soap dish. It was beautiful.
She also does image transfer. She buys them from a contact in China.
Joanne has a book about doing it, making your own prints out of clay or on paper or whatever. Quite interesting.
I was fascinated. She used some very light green which I found very attractive.
She had a lot of pottery, ranging from large pitchers and platters to small herb labels. She made them with half or third tiles with the word written on them, then a coathanger half inserted and epoxied into the holes. They were priced to sell at $5 each. Very interesting.
