8:23 am
After waking up several times in the night and being unable to go back to sleep, I finally slept in this morning.
I let willem sleep while I said our morning prayer aloud, just in case he was hearing.
My right shoulder was killing me as was the other arm and shoulder. My knee was better. YIPPEE!
Last night after we’d come home, I’d asked Willem to load the car so I could go to the dump before he got up.
So at 8:30 I was on my way to the dump.
Earl said they are no longer charging for stuff tossed in the dump proper, but if it’s in a bag. If it’s not bagged then you have to pay a dollar a bag’s worth. So we have to throw away perfectly good plastic bags or pay a buck. Sheesh.
The township is raising our taxes by $40. That’s less than a bag a week, but a lot more than I dump in a year.
I stood there by the paper dumpster and went through the unsorted garbage, sorting out all bits of paper and cardboard. Then I went into the trailer and sorted all plastics from cans. I don’t know why I didn’t just sort my garbage when I tossed it out this week. I think it’s because I had put some of my big containers out in the woodshed, thinking it was dump day coming up, but then we didn’t go on Saturday cos we went to the Toronto Temple.
So that’s why none of it got sorted. Hey, I forgot to take the bag of plastic film and the true garbage bag! Oh well. There’s always next week.
I found three suitable folding chairs for putting along the stream. So they went into the trunk. Oh, I found a ton of flowers! Someone must have had a funeral and chucked the arrangements afterwards. So I have a big Home Depot bag of artificial silk flowers.
I also got two more hats in the reuse center. I found a usable wisk and some rope. I don’t think I got anything else.
