I have helped in my small part for the Katrina victims. I gave 1000 mypoints.com points to the Red Cross. I think that equals maybe a $10 donation? I don't really have any money right now, so I hope that tiny bit of money helped.
There is a Katrina family moving in down the street from my parents house. The whole neighborhood is giving them blankets, food, household items, etc. Since I am always buying and selling for ebay, I had a large stack of mix matched bowls and plates I gave to them. I also had a Anne Geddes baby bunny doll. They have a 10 month old baby girl that was thrilled to receive it. I was told she immediately grabbed it and kissed it and hugged it. I'm glad I made her happy. I wasn't able to be there when people were bringing them all the donated items, but the mother was so overjoyed at our generosity she mentioned she might host a party for the neighbors who are helping her out to get to know them. I'd like to go to that. Would be nice. :-)
