I have been to a Bat Mitzvah in Chicago, a three-day affair with a high temperature of 4 degrees Fahrenheit.
I have been thinking very seriously about What I Want To Do In Real Life.
I have been trying to plan my next unit for work: Exile in Babylon. This unit includes Ezekiel, who would likely be an institutionalized schizophrenic if he were alive today. Some scholars believe he may have been epileptic, but I prefer the diagnosis "totally frickin wacko." It also includes Daniel and Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah. Ezra and Nehemiah are interesting characters, both important leaders to the exiles returning to the Land of Israel, but their books are without question two of the least exciting (after Leviticus) in the entire Old Testament.
I have been holding very small, very silent celebrations of the fact that the GIANTS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL on Sunday. My celebrations have been very small and very silent out of necessity, because on Sunday, the Giants will be playing the New English Patriots, and anti-Giant feeling has been running high here in Boston. I am living in the stronghold of the enemy. My mother FedEx-ed me my Giants Good Luck Troll today. I feel more confident already.
