With sausage, I usually simmer it in water until it's partially cooked, then cut it up and fry it until it's crispy and brown on the outside. Then into the crockpot it goes to simmer for several hours in a good tomato sauce. I know that wouldn't work for this particular dish, but what you made sounds pretty damn good. :)

I'm so glad the mustard greens worked well, and it does sound like a lovely dish.

The previous problem with it was bad enough that it didn't work, even from the Google results page. And then I left off the http, too.
