Poll: Birthday fic!
Hello, nancydrewfic readers/members! I have an idea but I wanted to gauge interest in it before I did something official.
Gift fic is really fun to write (and receive), and even if you don't necessarily celebrate any holidays, you have a birthday. Wouldn't you love a Nancy/Ned story for your birthday? I know I always do. ;)
So, here's the idea. I make a post and you reply with the following information:
-Your birth month (you definitely don't need to include the year, unless you wish to do so!)
-Your fic likes and dislikes (for example, you like fluffy stories but hate kidfic; you can be as brief or extensive with the list as you wish)
-Preferred rating, if any
Then I make a master list with all the responses organized by month, and anyone who feels like writing a birthday fic can check out the requests. For those of you who read extensively but do not write, you could participate by suggesting a fic that matches the respondent's interests, kind of like a fandom stocking.
I know some of you are involved in multiple fandoms, and if you also want to talk about those other fandoms, I would suggest that you make a post at your personal LJ (or tumblr, or dreamwidth, or whatever) and link to it, just in case someone here also shares that interest.
Considering that R-rated and NC-17-rated fanfics are visible to members only, it might make sense to restrict this to members only - but I'm okay with leaving it open for everyone.
And, as always, if the poll does not work for you, feel free to respond in the comments section.
