I find him most funny in situations where he is completely out of his depth. River is 90% of those all by herself. :)

Yes! Exactly this. And the "go boil water" thingie that the TARDIS found for him...HEEE! I LOVE this. "Good work, dear..." She's so sweet when she's being, well, just a bit condescending (as he deserves). :-)

Poor River. But the idea of the Doctor finding himself in this kind of timey-wimey situation amuses me probably more than it ought to. :)

When Idris appeared, a few people laughed that River would be jealous, and no, I have already seen the two of them working together. :) River/TARDIS is a fantastic partnership.

He is so lost, omg! I halfway expect something like this to actually happen on the show (though I don't think they'll have kids -- something similar, though).
