Okay, first? I tend not to rec because that way lies madness. For every story I put up as "OMG, READ THIS!" there are half a dozen that are awesome and I feel bad about not having written up, and I assume people are judging me for not reccing those, and then there's nothing for it but running outside screaming and naked and so on. (Everyone has damage. This is part of mine. Deal.)
That said, go read this:
Scourge the Flesh (and Let the Soul Free) by
beesandbrews. It's J/I, it's dark, it's labeled NC-17 for violence rather than sex, and it's got warnings for a reason. But as anyone who's known me for more than ten minutes knows, I don't have patience for "dark for the sake of dark," and limited interest in "dark because my inner demons needed a stroll." (I assume readers also have a limited interest in my own inner demon walking habits.) This story isn't either one: it's dark for the sake of getting through the dark and finding out what's next.
