Kit remembers Thundera, vaguely. She remembers lessons: armed and unarmed combat, math, science, and of course, manners as befitted a young lady of the court. She'll never ever say she's glad her world burned, but part of her knows that, given many more lessons in simpering, she'd have lit the match herself.
Some of the surviving nobles, not her friends, want to rebuild New Thundera in that same image, chide her for playing boys' games and sparring with the men. "She'll never find a husband," they say.
Kit laughs, and leaps, and almost flies, and decides that's fine with her.
