(no subject)
well, petticoat no.1 is done. i just need to whip stitch around the bottom of the pocket slits for strength. omg, so.much.hemming. but it's done(YAY!). one more to go. i decided against the 1" twill tape i got, ad settled on the 1/2". so i need more. 4 1/2 yards more. thankfully, i can use my joanns card (once i find it...)
AMAZINGLY, i have my moms blessing (and even encouragement) to work faire this year. look like all systems are go. i'm currently working on what kind of bodice i want (i can't run around in my underwear forever, you know), and i am also debating making an effigy pair of stays (for comfort purposes). i'd use what fabric i already have, and only 1 reed a channel should be sufficient. i am considering buying some decent metal eyelets to save time, and i would probably bind the edge with twill tape (unless the leather is amazingly easy). i also think i will make a wool jacket in this style (w/o embroidery). i am thinking a red skirt (i really want one) or maybe brown (more versatile), grey jacket, and some colored bodice of sorts. so yes, exciting new reason to continue making new things.
