Only Cat Lovers Would Understand....

I am in the process of trying to get my kitty (Maggie) to NOT sleep in my room anymore! I have a hard time sleeping as it is and her nocturnal shenanigans (from 3:00AM on) isn't helping the problem any.

Up to a couple of nights ago, she's had the run of the house and my bedroom, through the night. My grandson lives with me and has to get up for work in the morning and if Maggie is barred from my room, she meows and paws at the door until she finally wears me down. My grandson told me that if I am worried about Maggie waking him up, not to, as if he hears her,(and I don't know how he couldn't)! he just goes right back to sleep anyway.

So....the first night Maggie hardly did any meowing at all, surprise, surprise! I heard her once more through the night and either she gave up or I went back to sleep and didn't hear her. The second night, I went to bed, shut the door and...oh boy! Did she howl! I stood it for about 10 minutes but when her howels turned to tiny, pathetic meows, I did what I couldn't believe I would do. I got up, got a blanket, came out on the coach, and after rubbing me all over my face for about 5 minutes she settled down practically on top of me, then moved to the easy chair beside the coach and settled in, confident that all was well with her world. Finally, after about another 10 minutes, I got up and ACTUALLY tip towed down the hall and back to my room, again quickly shutting my door. I couldn't believe I had done this! BUT, all was well the rest of the night and I woke up this morning early and rested!!!!

I'm sure Maggie appreciated her mistress' attention...
