for the prompt of "Salt Of The Earth".

With the summer's sun reaching its highest point above the ground, Bentley had sneaked away from his farm to go up the hill and into the woods. It had been a rather discreet place on the property that he did not tell many about, thankfully. He couldn't imagine sharing it with anyone else.
Well, that was a lie. Bentley knew exactly who he would love to share it with, but he could never talk to someone like that.
Piper Morrison was, after all, too good for this sinful earth, and he was certainly not the only person who agreed with that. Certainly, she must have had her flaws -- she was not the most lovely creature in this town, in fact, she was rather plain, but that certainly couldn't count -- and by God, Bentley would find the the flaws in the girl. In fact, that was one of the reasons his hidden spot was where it was.
The girl was not at all aware of Bentley peering into her back window as she brushed her hair. It was nice, smooth, every bit of why she should be noted as, well, quite healthy, and good material for a wife. Perhaps that was just him, however, for it didn't exactly appear that Piper had many suitors. That was fine for Bentley, of course, because that meant that he had less competition.
She was still wearing her best clothes, clearly having just come home from Church before she brushed her hair out. Bentley knew her schedule inside and out, making sure that he could, if he ever wanted to, avoid her, or, if he decided to, meet her and make it look like a coincidence. That day just hasn't quite come yet. It will, though. For example, though, Piper would be heading off to work. He could easily show up at the nursing home that she worked at, claiming to have a relative there, just for a chance to talk to her. He didn't think it'd come to that, but it may at this rate...
The truth of the matter was that Bentley was a painfully shy boy, not really wanting to have to deal with the horror that was dating. Really, that was why he was still single at 25. It had nothing to do with the fact that women didn't want him, he knew that they had for a very long time. He just wasn't half as interested in them as he was with Piper.
If only he could find a way to meet her...
The sound of the door could be heard, much to his surprise.
There she was.
The goddess herself.
"Do I know you?" Piper asked, hands on her hips. "Why are you looking in my window?"
Bentley blinked at her, noticing how green her eyes were. Up close, Piper was much more lovely. "Um...hi, I'm from down the road...and I was wanting to come introduce myself."
Hours seemed to tick away while Piper and he stood, watching each other. "...I have to go to work, but I'm Piper Morrison."
"Bentley Wade."
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Wade." Piper offered him a luminescent smile before bidding him goodbye and heading to her car.
All he could do was watch her walk away and drive off, thinking that, perhaps, they could do this again.
He'd absolutely love to get close enough to talk to someone as pure and good as Miss Piper Morrison.
