I love the way my friends debate. A prime example of the honest, intellectual, open discussion that *should* be taking place in the halls of government EVERYWHERE is the entire post and comment discussion from
jtothecapitalc's recent LJ entry.
word. All around. I can't help but wonder (and not inquisitively, but with a boggled brain) at the destinct impression that most of the struggle in the Middle East seems to have has stemmed from, IMHO, a basic theological disagreement:
THING 1: God gave me this land.
Thing2: No, no, I beg to differ. Mohammed gave us this land.
I know, I know, oversimplification of a globally influenced political/theological/historical quagmire. I like the big picture, what can I say?
To illustrate, my formal counterpoint to the entire discussion is:
I had peanut butter and honey sandwiches (open face) for dinner.
mmmmmmmmm. I love America!
