So - I am currently unemployed. I'm beginning to think of it as on hiatus, seeing as unemployed is a taboo term in the family lexicon.
Right now, I'm working on a mix of music for Moossa's Halloween show. Y'all should come! We're playing Halloween night at Bogart's. I know, I know. It's a Thursday. But, come ON! You will have fun. I promise!
I'm going to be doing some odds and ends for the business end of Moossa, since I have some extra time. That's good. I'll be making some money while looking for a new day job. One thing I'm going to be doing is getting my financial paperwork in order. I'd like to be able to sincerely budget my finances and know where I am financially at all times. It's just gonna take some big work on my end.
Good news on the schooling front! I had to go into Harrisonburg last night for a class meeting, but I'm glad I did. I got a copy of my official transcript and plugged in my transferrable classes into the I.S. program and found out that, if all credits are accepted like the instructor thinks they will be, I will be able to graduate within the next year!! I will only have to complete the IS 498 class, which is the Senior Project. Basically, a thesis class. And, since I'm designing my major*, I can also fine tune my thesis to support my choice of concentration with the I.S. degree. So excited!!
I'm going to be putting up fliers today around Richmond for the Moossa shows coming up and then tomorrow is the Glen Allen show. Oh yeah! If anyone wants to come to that show, it's not so late in the evening. We're performing at the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Festival on Thursday between 8-10 PM. I'll post about the gigs seperately for easier reference.
It seems I'm doing so much more now that I'm not going in to that job anymore. I really want to make this work, I'm just trying to figure out the particulars at this point. But, I'm really glad I made the decision I did.
Ok - well. I'm off for the afternoon. lilmisshipsway, I will be contacting you in re: your email. It sounds like it would be flexible enough to work for what I'm trying to do right now.

* - The Bachelor of Individualized Studies (which I am currently pursuing) has a small caveat. It can't be the same program as anything that currently exists within the JMU course catalog. Now, I can pull something from another school's course catalog, but I also have the option of creating it out of whole cloth, so to speak. I'm working with the credits I have already earned, and going from there.
