The Update

Merry Christmas to all! and a Happy Boxing Day!

In first news, I have a new job. It's in NJ. I couldn't wait for them to get their act together at Merck. The Merck facility in PA (over an hour drive each way) I was at was being sold, and they had no definitive word on contactors' fate until December 19th. I took that to mean no more job, so I went out and found a full time permanent position in Princeton NJ, at at small contract manufacturing company. I'm working in the analytical lab. I started Dec 8th & things are going well so far.

I move into a new apartment last weekend. It's close to work. Still have many boxes to unpack & lots of people have already said they want to visit & check out the new digs. Hooray visiting!

Jim & I have broken up. That's the biggest reason for the new place. It's been tough & on & off and waves of emotions. Some days are good, some days are not so good & some days are bad days. Jim's a good guy tho, with good qualities. He, however felt that if he didn't know if he should marry me after 7 years, then we should break up. Many people will tell me I was too patient. Maybe I was. There were a lot of good times too. Thank goodness this was a holiday week, so I have been too busy to think about things too much.
Being sick with bronchitis (yup - it usually hits if I get a cold) has made the past 2 weeks suck, but I am on meds. We'll see. Hooray to my friends and family who have suffered through trying to have a conversation with me through coughing fits. I applaud your patience & appreciate you not walking out of the room on me.
My hives are gone & I'm weaning off those meds too.

Survived the holiday craziness, now to figure out what's going on for New Year's Eve/ whose having a party I can go to. I know about Gabe, Brian & Kev's...but any others going on?
I have to work the 31st, and the 2nd, so it's not like I can go too far away. Family party the 3rd. I know someone whose birthday is the 4th, too!

I guess that's the update for now. I got most everything I asked for, for Christmas. My mom said there was something on my list that she couldn't find, but I keep forgetting what it was, so it must not have been that big of a deal. Oh! A calendar book. I'll just go to B & N and get it myself. Mom did get me "Melting Stones" by Tamora Pierce, one of my fav authors, so I'm reading that right now. I'm trying to take it slow, but I don't know how much longer I can make it last. Dad got me a new coat. Kate got me a make your own sushi kit & thus we had home-made sushi tonight. It's quite a bit of work, but tasty!

2009 will be a fun & interesting year full of fresh starts and new experiences.

Not sure about Pennsic, because my mom & aunt go to a dude ranch in August, usually while I'm at Pennsic & maybe I'll go with them this year. Pennsic has been my only vacation for the past 7 years. It is awesome, but a friend was saying he's taken a few years off now & then and that's okay too. Maybe this year will be my year off. I mean I'd have to wrangle up enough $ for a tent & figure out where to camp. No offense meant, but Rivenwood is home to a little too much drama for my liking. Perhaps an extra 12 months to figure it out would be good. At the same time, maybe it would be fun to go to Pennsic and live somewhere different in a brand new tent? ::shrug::

As usual best wishes to everyone! Miffy, esp w/ your back & your head & your horse & your kitties. Ro'bear - w/ you & M & everything. Missed seeing you at 100 Min - it was just too cold for me to go & with all of the rest of life going on. Z - let me know when you're visiting, & hoping all is well w/ your & your fam. S & D - sounds like you're having a decent holiday season... I guess that's if for now. Rock on.
