the train

Dec 01, 2008 17:38

The train awaits for my shoes to be steppin
As soon as the loud speakers blare
And the people all rush for the doors to the tracks
But with no favorite seat I don't care
Every day waitin there look at the faces
All drawn and tired and morose
Looking into their eyes for some traces
Of life but its long since been toast
The train it starts driftin so I pull out a book
Of travelin and music and such
While some woman walkin past gives me a look
Wonderin why I'm reading so much
Well I can't stand the ride staring out the windah
With nothin forever to do
The stops keep on coming one after another
Til ya feel like ya turnin cold blue
But a book makes the time pass ever so quickly
Before ya know it you're home
People disembark with faces so sickly
Their troubles all startin ta fester.
